Here is a list of the ten most exciting new cookbooks coming out for Spring 2024, and the ones I plan on pre-ordering. There is nothing more exciting than coming home from a long day to find a new cookbook in your mailbox. If you want more, you can click the link in each section that will take you to Amazon where you can read additional information and view preview photos of what’s inside the books.
1. Kitten & The Bear Cookbook by Sophie Kaftal + Bobby Zielinks
Recipes for Small Batch Preserves, Scones, and Sweets from the Beloved Shop

What is this cookbook about? Afternoon tea from a duo that really gets it. Do recipes like Sunshine Peach Jam, Pink Apple and Lilac Blossom Jelly, and Lemon Cream Marmalade make you salivate? The recipes in this book are focused on the preserves from the adorable shop Kitten & the Bear. This book also includes recipes for their popular scones, sables, angel food cakes, and more.
Why is it different? I have been on the hunt for a cookbook afternoon tea. The options that are currently available are lackluster and not very inspiring. Most of the books are self-published which isn’t a bad thing. I just prefer to learn from people who are experts in their field. Kitten & the Bear is a physical shop in England selling jams, jellies, and the most adorable pastry boxes.
Am I pre-ordering this book? I already did! Afternoon tea in London is one of my favorite things. This year I would like to romanticize life a bit more. This cookbook is an all inclusive guide to make that happen. Kitten & the Bear has a fairy-tale spirit that I am drawn to and I cannot wait to host afternoon tea at home this spring.
This title will be available on April 2nd. Get it to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
2. Wild Figs & Fennel by Letitia Clark
A Year in an Italian Kitchen

What is this cookbook about? This cookbook is described as “a charming journey into the ease and pleasure that defines Italian life”. The recipes are seasonal, and noted as simple.
Why is it different? This cookbook is beautiful. It’s one of those books you display on your counter as art. Around here, we like our books useful too. This is the 3rd book from author Letitia Clark. I have not read her other 2 books but they have been sitting in my Amazon cart since their releases in 2020 and 2021. This book looks to be more meal oriented and I am trying to eat more seasonally this year.
Will I be pre-ordering it? Yes please! The publisher describes the dishes as refreshing, light, and produce forward. Meat and fish are used, but not often. As someone who prefers to eat plant-based, that description makes me happy. I am a sucker for beautiful things, and the cover art on this book will fit perfectly with my home decor.
This title will be available on April 23rd. Get it to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
3. The Cook Book of All Time by Ashley & Tyler Wells
Recipes, Stories, and Cooking Advice from a Neighborhood Restaurant

What is this cookbook about? I love a good restaurant owner cookbook. All Time is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ashley and Tyler have a unique approach to feeding people. They have created a food experience that feels like home from the dishes on the table to the decor on the walls. And now we can do the same in our own homes.
Why is it different? All Time is not your typical restaurant. It honestly looks like someone just opened their home to the neighborhood to serve its residents delicious meals all day long. The ingredients are sourced locally, the decor is thoughtful yet homey, and from what I can tell online, it’s a bustling little spot.
Am I pre-ordering this cookbook? Not yet. This is one of those books that I want to see for myself before purchasing. I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that it will make it’s way into my collection, but I also want to make sure it’s a no-fuss book. Sometimes with restaurant cookbooks they end up being better coffee table books than useful resources. I’ll take you along to the bookstore when I go to check this one out. Be sure to follow along on TikTok.
This title will be available on April 2nd. Get it to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
4. Cool Pasta by Tom Jackson
Reinventing the Pasta Salad

What is this cookbook about? A single subject cookbook dedicated to cold pasta salads. I love a single subject cookbook because I feel like I can become an expert in something. I also believe the author has had time to really focus on that one single subject, so the results and recipes are so much better for that time and dedication.
Why is it different? This book caught my attention because I have been thinking about pasta salad for this upcoming summer season. As romanticizing life is becoming more popular, I feel like picnics are the perfect way to do that. And what’s the #1 staple for picnic food? Pasta salad of course. But the pasta salad recipes I’ve come across are all the same.
Will I be pre-ordering it? Not right away. I live in New England where picnic season doesn’t really start until June. So this won’t be a book I’m reaching for anytime soon since it’s February when I write this. I will be checking it out once it hits shelves in March.
This title will be released on March 26th. Get it delivered to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
5. Le Sud by Rebekah Peppler
Recipes from Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

What is this cookbook about? The seasonal food and local ingredients of southeastern Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur. The publisher describes it as “more than a recipe book; it is a dive into and a celebration of this abundant, enchanting region that has long captured the imaginations of many.”
Why is it different? I love a cookbook that goes deep into a geographic location. Instead of just focusing on French cuisine, Rebekah takes the reader to Provence and the coastal towns and villages of southern France.
Will I be pre-ordering it? Not sure yet. This is another book I would like to preview deeper. The few recipes that were offered in the Amazon preview look good…but it’s not enough to get me to purchase the book yet. I do feel this book is one that takes its reader on a travel getaway, and I could always use that. I’ll be checking this one out in person on the 23rd as there are some other new releases hitting shelves that day too!
This title will be released on April 23rd. Get it delivered to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
6. Koreaworld by Deuki Hong and Matt Rodbard

What is this cookbook about? Koreaworld is a vibrant exploration of Korean cuisine, at least that’s what the publisher describes it as. This is the second book from the duo authors but this time they are globetrotting to uncover recipes and the evolution of the Korean cuisine.
Why is it different? The description reads like this book will be part travel adventure and part cookbook. I love when a cookbook takes its reader on a journey through the geographic location, It makes sitting at home with a foot of snow on the ground much more enjoyable for me. When I cook a recipe, I appreciate when I can learn about the culture and history, and I feel like this book will do just that.
Will I be pre-ordering it? Probably not. So why did I include it? I can just tell when reading the description for Koreaworld that it will push the reader to new places. Meat and fish are not a big part of my diet and the recipes in this book lean heavily into those ingredients. I just don’t see myself cooking from it often, but I wanted to include it in this list because I think it has the potential to open the reader to a new and transformative world of Korean cuisine. 7. At My Italian Table by Laura Vitale
Family Recipes from My Cucina to Yours: A Cookbook

What is this cookbook about? I first discovered Laura Vitale from YouTube when she started her own cooking show. I’ve loved watching her grow her brand over the past decade. Her personality is like a warm hug, and so is her food. Her second cookbook brings us even deeper into her family history with recipes from her Nonna and native Italy.
Why is it different? It feels authentic and classic. If you’ve ever wished for an Italian grandmother to pass down family recipes, this book might be it. There is an emphasis on recipes for Sunday dinners and holiday meals. We could all spend more time with loved ones around the table this year and this cookbook might be the blueprint for making family memories.
Am I pre-ordering this book? I have so many cookbooks. So when I decide to add one to my collection, it has to bring something new. I plan to stop into my local bookstore on launch day to take a deeper look. It’s published by one of my favorites, Clarkson Potter, and I have never had a bad recipe from a book they stand behind. So most likely this book will make it’s way into my collection this year.
This title will be available on February 27th. Get it to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
8. ZAYTINYA by Jose Andres
Delicious Mediterranean Dishes from Greece, Turkey, and Lebanon

What is this cookbook about? Zaytinya is a restaurant that has been open for over 20 years and has 3 locations. New York City, Washington D.C. and South Beach get to experience this unique creation from James Beard Award winning chef Jose Andres. The menu is inspired by authentic Lebanese, Greek, and Turkish cuisines but with a twist. It focuses on small plates and socializing which are two things I think everyone could do more of this year.
Why is it different? A James Beard Award winner has credibility compared to many of the self taught chefs and bloggers. Don’t get me wrong, some of my favorite recipes come from bloggers. But, a chef that has won an award for pushing boundaries and creating interest in the food industry is less likely to publish a mediocre book. In reading the brief description of this book, I am tremendously intrigued by the crossroads of multiple cuisines and I think these recipes would push an average home cook into a new culinary space. Books like this are where I get most dinner party recipes to WOW my guests and keep them thinking that I’m an amazing cook, when really I just found an awesome recipe.
Will I be pre-ordering this cookbook? Maybe. I really want to explore Mediterranean cuisines more this year. I love Greek food and really don’t cook it much myself. This book has a unique combination of cuisines from Greece, Turkey, and Lebanon and I trust that Jose Andres has blended traditional and unique flavors and methods to create some inspiring dishes. This is another book I’ll be checking out in person at my local bookstore on launch day.
This title will be available on March 19th. Get it to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
9. Plant You: Scrappy Cooking by Carleigh Bodrug
140+ Plant-Based Zero-Waste Recipes That Are Good for You, Your Wallet, and the Planet.

What is this book about? Carleigh gained her following on TikTok and she continues to inspire people to eat more plant based. She has a series on TikTok called Scrappy Cooking, so it’s only natural she is coming out with a book about it.
Why it’s different? I hate throwing food away. When I throw away produce that has spoiled I literally see dollar bills sitting in my trash can. Not only will this book save me money, but it will also help reduce food waste and benefit the environment.
Am I pre-ordering this book? HECK YES!!! I have Carleigh’s first book Plant You, and I use it constantly. I’m excited to learn more about reducing food waste and how I can stretch my dollar by using ALL the groceries I buy.
This title will be available on April 2nd. Get it to your door on launch day by pre-ordering below!
10. Cooking in Real Life by Lidey Heuck
Delicious & Doable Recipes for Every Day (A Cookbook)

What is this cookbook about? If you’re a fan of Ina Garten and you’ve binge watched all episodes of Barefoot Contessa, then you know Lidey. If you’re a fan of Erin French and know that working in her kitchen is a big honor, you’ll have trust in Lidey. The recipes will be easy and approachable based on the brief descriptions I’ve read. Plus, Ina Garten wrote the foreward, so we can pretty much assume this is a book worth exploring.
Why is it different? Imagine learning everything about cooking from Ina Garten and Erin French and then translating that into your own collection of recipes. This is Lidey’s first cookbook and really our first time seeing her on her own and not under the light of a famous chef. I’m excited to read more about her story.
Will I be pre-ordering this cookbook? I’m 50/50. At the time of writing this post there were no preview images other than the cover. I want to see what the recipes are before adding another book to my huge collection. I have 100% trust that these recipes are delicious, but I’m thinking it may be a book better suited for beginner cooks. Make sure to follow along on Instagram!
